My Turn – California’s online statewide registry

The California Department of Public Health has created an online tool called My Turn to help every resident get vaccinated safely, quickly, and easily.

The state continues to update this site with new vaccine providers and appointments. Sign up and My Turn will tell you when you can get a vaccine near you.

Everyone in California can use My Turn to sign up to get a vaccine.

You don't need insurance.

You don't need to be a citizen.

You just need to meet the eligibility criteria.

What is My Turn?

My Turn is a system that tracks vaccines in our state. This includes:

  • eligibility, which means who is qualified to get a vaccine now,
  • registration, or signing up people to get notified when appointments are available nearby,
  • and scheduling appointments or setting a time to get a vaccine.

Why is it needed?

The health officials in our state are working to get a vaccine for everyone safely and fairly. The My Turn system can help.

The state will use the system to manage information to enable it to make appointments and get a vaccine for everyone quickly.

What does My Turn do?

The system asks questions that can tell if you are eligible to get a vaccine now or have to wait.

Eligible people can make an appointment, after answering 11 questions asked by the CDC. If you are not eligible for a vaccine now, the system saves the information and will notify you later when it’s your turn.

Eligible people can pick a vaccination place and available time for their first and second doses. They can also cancel those appointments. They can get a text or email reminder about their appointment.

The system supports the eight languages now offered to California residents. This includes English, Spanish, Tagalog, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Arabic.

If you need help, call (833) 422-4255, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to sign up for My Turn. When you call, you will be told when you are eligible. You can call the same (833) 422-4255 number to make an appointment.

Who can sign up?

Anyone living in California can sign up. You do not need insurance. You do not need to be a citizen to sign up or get a vaccine.

How will my health information be protected?

State laws protect your health information. The state will not share information you give them to get a vaccine for purposes other than scheduling your vaccine. They will use it only to get you a vaccine.

The health officials in our state are working to get a vaccine for everyone safely and fairly. The My Turn system can help.

What is the cost to sign up?

There is no cost to sign up. There is also no cost for the vaccine.

I am homebound. Can I sign up?

Although My Turn does not yet handle appointments for homebound residents, the state is looking at options to assist them. More information is coming soon.

Will the system show accessibility information for vaccination locations?

The state is currently expanding the system to include that information.

If I do not have a smartphone or computer, can I still get vaccinated?

We want every Californian to have access to COVID-19 vaccines when they become eligible. If you need help, call (833) 422-4255, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to sign up for My Turn. If you call in, the state will tell you once you are eligible and you can call the same (833) 422-4255 number to make an appointment.

For more information you can visit the state’s vaccine page.
