Here are five ways we’re helping you and your family stay healthy.

It’s been more than two and a half years since the COVID-19 pandemic began. And while COVID-19 isn’t in our rearview mirror yet, the world has reached a more hopeful stage – and there’s reason to be optimistic. We’ve got vaccines and updated booster shots. We also have easy access to testing and effective treatments.

Blue Shield of California has supported our members every step of the way on this journey. And we will continue to be there for you in the future. Here are five ways we’re working to keep you healthy and stress-free.

We help you find COVID-19 vaccine and testing locations
Do you need a COVID-19 vaccine, booster, or test? Our COVID-19 website includes provider locators so you can find one near you. Vaccines and boosters are some of the most important tools to control the COVID-19 virus. The shots are available to all our members. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccines.

We provide access to at-home COVID-19 tests
We want to make testing as convenient as possible. Many of our plans cover the cost of at-home COVID-19 tests. That means you can take a test in the privacy of your home. Find out more about at-home test coverage.

We help you get treatment if you test positive
If you get COVID-19, we’ve got you covered. First step is to call your Blue Shield primary care doctor – and you may be able to set up a virtual visit so you don’t have to leave home. Some Blue Shield plans also offer access to other telehealth options.

Your doctor might prescribe COVID-19 medication if you’re at risk of getting very sick. High-risk groups include older adults, people who aren’t vaccinated, and people with certain health conditions such as cancer, diabetes, or a weakened immune system.

Options include antiviral pills you take at home, or an IV infusion or injection you get at a clinic or doctor’s office. You must begin the medications within 5 to 7 days of the start of symptoms. That’s why it’s key to call your doctor as soon as you test positive. Read more about getting COVID care.

We offer language interpreter services
Being part of your community means speaking your language. Through our free language interpreter services, we meet you where you are. We help you feel comfortable at doctor’s appointments no matter what language you speak. You can ask for an interpreter for more than 15 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL). We want to make sure the latest COVID-19 vaccine and booster information is available to everyone. (P.S. Don’t forget to add your language preference to your member profile.)

We support your mental health
It’s key to take care of your mental health during the pandemic. In addition to our mental health resources, we’re giving eligible members more access to lifestyle tools at Wellvolution. Members can now try meditation tools, including the app Headspace. Follow its guided meditations and “sleepcasts” – which are audio journeys designed to help you get a good night’s rest. Plus, browse 1,000+ hours of exercises for stress relief. We’ve also added Ginger, which gives members on-demand access to licensed therapists and mental health coaches.
