  Outpatient therapy

Talking to a therapist or psychiatrist can help you find real answers. Treatment might include tests and medication. Some problems treated include:

  • Depression, anxiety, or feeling “stressed out”
  • Grief, loss, or loneliness
  • Family issues
  • Support after pregnancy loss

There are no limits on outpatient visits and no co-payments. You have no deductible. You don't need a referral or approval. Just call customer care. They will help you figure out next steps.

Visit your primary care physician (PCP)

We recommend visiting your PCP to discuss your concerns.
Your PCP works with you to figure out what might help best.
Your primary doctor can screen for the following:

  • Adverse childhood experiences (for members through age 64)
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Maternal mental health
  • Alcohol and drug use (for members ages 11 and over)
  • Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) for assistance in addiction recovery
  • Cognitive health (for members over 65 not on Medicare)

Your PCP can screen for alcohol and drug use and prescribe certain medications, including Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid or alcohol recovery.  The county will provide further treatment.  All additional needed treatment can be accessed through the County Funded Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS).

 Behavioral health treatment

This treatment is for those under age 21. It includes Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA teaches skills to communicate, live and play. Start by visiting your child’s doctor to discuss your concerns. Your child's doctor or psychologist must have a medical reason for the treatment. If they prescribe this treatment, our care team must review and approve it before your child can access care.
