什麼是Medicare
Medicare是一項針對65歲或65歲以上人士提供的聯邦醫療保險計劃。Medicare還對某些患有特定殘疾的65歲以下人士及患有末期腎臟病(ESRD)的人士提供保險。Medicare包括四個部份：醫院保險（A部份）、醫療保險（B部份）、Medicare Advantage（C部份）與處方藥計劃（D部份）。
Medicare A部份與B部份一起稱為Original Medicare。之後增加了C部份與D部份，以改善Original Medicare的承保缺口。
Medicare補充計劃（也稱為Medigap）是私人保險計劃，可以幫助支付Original Medicare不支付的醫療保健費用。共付額、共同保險金與自付額等都是其例子。
Original Medicare： 醫院保險與醫療保險
Original Medicare是一項按服務收費、由聯邦政府管理的健康計劃。它為合資格的個人提供承保並讓他們取得接受Medicare的醫生、醫院與其他醫療保健服務提供者的服務。（附註：按服務收費是一種醫療保險的形式，醫療服務提供者為每項他們提供的服務按設定的費用獲得補償。）
Medicare A部份：住院承保
Medicare A部份會支付在醫院或長期護理環境中接受服務的費用：
- 住院病人醫院服務和護理
- 專業護理機構護理
- 臨終關懷
- 居家護理服務（急性住院後提供的服務）
- 器官移植
Medicare B部份：醫療服務承保
Medicare B部份支付門診護理、醫生服務、醫療用品與預防性服務的費用：
- 醫生門診
- 門診服務、手術、物理治療、言語治療和職業治療
- 救護車服務
- 居家護理服務（並非急性住院後）
- 醫療檢驗和化驗
- 耐用醫療設備與用品
- 預防性醫療護理、乳房X光檢查、子宮頸抹片檢查
Medicare C部份：Medicare Advantage Plan
Medicare Advantage計劃包括Medicare A部份與B部份承保的所有項目，再增加視力、聽力、牙科與保健計劃等福利的承保。大多數計劃都承保處方藥（D部份）。這些稱為Medicare Advantage-Prescription Drug (MA-PD)計劃。只有Medicare核准的私營公司才能提供這些計劃。
Medicare D部分：處方藥物計劃：
Medicare D部分為您的處方提供獨立承保。您可以選擇此項與Medicare補充計劃合作的獨立承保，或將其結合到Medicare Advantage-Prescription Drug (MA-PD)計劃中。任何一種選擇都可以幫助您支付處方藥的費用。
Medicare補充計劃(Medigap)

資格
You become eligible for Medicare coverage when you turn 65. Younger individuals who have a disability or End-Stage Renal Disease may also be eligible. For those younger than 65 with questions about eligibility, please visit Medicare.gov.
The Medicare eligibility rules are the same for everyone. But the enrollment period may be different. Your window of 7 months to sign up begins 3 months before the month you turn 65 and ends 3 months after the month you turn 65.
